Craneway Scholarship Fund

Summit Bank Foundation introduced the Craneway Scholarship Fund in 2009. This one-year scholarship fund honors a high school senior whose contributions and commitment to the community have made a positive difference, Mr. Eddie Orton, President of Orton Development.

The Craneway Pavilion is a state-of-the-art event, concert and production facility, located in the Ford Assembly Building in Richmond, CA. Originally designed by legendary 20th century architect Albert Kahn, it opened in 1932 as Ford Motor’s Model ‘A’ production plant. During WWII, it became the hub of home front effort when it was retooled to assemble tanks and jeeps to land on the victory ships being built at the shipyards next door.

Today, boasting spectacular views of San Francisco, the facility is fast becoming a major waterfront destination for the entire San Francisco Bay Area.
