The Summit Bank Foundation has been dedicated to promoting volunteerism and corporate support for non-profits in the Bay Area. The Foundation has been active in education, first by promoting Grade Specific curriculums in Financial Literacy for K-12 students through the Newspapers in Education program.
The Foundation later shifted to providing Oakland high school students the financial support they need to continue their education. To date, the College Scholarship Program supports six funds which provides 12 scholarships to students each year.
The mission of the Summit Bank Foundation Education Focus Area is threefold:
- To develop and promote financial literacy learning opportunities throughout the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
- To support general education endeavors throughout the East Bay.
- To recognize and encourage corporate volunteerism and support the nonprofit community.
In addition to the tireless support of literacy programs that have so far reached over 700,000 students in East Bay schools, we have also given hundreds of thousands of dollars to other East Bay individuals and organizations in need.
