Conquer Cancer: Close to Home

Unfortunately, due to continued complications of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are not yet ready to comfortably gather as we have in the past, and so this years 2021 Red and White Ball is formally cancelled.

Funds we’ve raised at past events have primarily focused on leading-edge cancer research and support for oncology Clinical Trials… this is even more important in 2021. While we all sheltered in place for months, Cancer did not quarantine itself during this pandemic.

Cancer was not postponed or delayed. Symptoms, scans and biopsies were diagnosed, while families gathered to hear the devastating news. Cancer did not wait, and we won’t either.

We are thrilled to share that John Muir Health is partnering with UCSF, and just broke ground on a new comprehensive Cancer Center in Walnut Creek, close to home for those we love who will fight for their lives. So many families are impacted by cancer; and you likely know someone close to you that has fought this battle as well.

This new UCSF-JMH Cancer Center will open in February of 2024 as a world-class, local HUB for cancer care and research, and the Summit Bank Foundation is establishing a “Conquer Cancer: Close to Home” Fund with a lead donation of $10,000 for this cause.

Consider what you would’ve given to the Red & White Ball and please give this same amount to continue our support for extraordinary cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research… right here!
