Oncologist, UCSF
Dr. Wei Ai is a blood disorder and cancer specialist, or oncologist, who treats adults needing blood and bone marrow transplantation and patients with conditions such as Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma including cutaneous lymphomas, which primarily involve the skin. In her research, she studies improving patient responses to lymphoma therapy. Her lab performs studies in cell line and tumor model systems and uses human tumor specimens to translate the findings. Her studies often lead to clinical trials to test new molecularly targeted cancer therapies.
Ai earned a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology and a medical degree, both from Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF and fellowship training in medical oncology at Stanford. She is an associate clinical professor in the hematology and oncology.
